
Dr. Ewa Sułek is an art historian, curator, sculptor, and writer, author of two books, award-winning short stories, and dramatic works. Her research explores contemporary Ukrainian art with a keen focus on themes of memory, loss, displacement, corporeality, gender, and postcolonial perspectives.
Ewa’s work has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Fulbright Junior Research Award at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and a visiting research position at the University of Cambridge’s Ukrainian Studies program. She also served as a DAAD PRIME postdoctoral fellow at Harvard’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies and the Institute for East European Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
Currently, as a Humboldt Research Postdoctoral Fellow, she continues her scholarly work at the Ost-Europa Institute in Berlin.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Ewa co-founded the Lescer Art Center in Zalesie Gorne, Poland, and the Ukrainian Environmental Humanities Network, both of which foster interdisciplinary dialogue and cultural exchange.
